The Adventure Begins
Your Destination Wedding Venue
Rustic River Wedding and Venue welcomes you to our site!
We are a brand NEW venue, established 2018!
This venue caught our eye last fall and our minds went running wild. With the huge 1904 barn and formerly being a Lavender Farm, it is absolutely perfect for weddings and events. We purchased it in November 2017 and started to remodel the venue as soon as we could. Keeping to the land's original charm and simplicity, we have followed steep measures and careful procedures to keep the historical structures original and vintage! You will find the authenticity of the 1920's exposed throughout the venue; inside and out. Our favorite personal touch to this venue though, is that it is FAMILY OWNED and operated! We do as much of the work ourselves as possible and when necessary, we hire and buy local first!
What is unique about this venue is the history and its foundation. You don't just see the old charm and peace, you feel it everywhere you go. It is in the over 100 year old woods, you hear it the thick nature surrounding you, you smell it in the flowers and lavender that have been blossoming for years, you see it in the old structures, you feel it in your soul... it's just there! You will have to come see for yourself, but be prepared to feel like you just stepped into paradise itself.
The Farm House was built back in 1917, however, the barn dates back so far that the first record we found was its existence in 1904. We also house one of the first school houses that was established in the county; it was moved to the venue from Mining Camp 1 near Ione, WA. The schoolhouse also dates back to 1917. This property has been used as a community staple since the early 1900's. The original owners have numerous documented friendships and trading with the local Native Americans and farmers. The importance of working closely together in the 1920's was critical to survival. We are hoping to return that sense of community to the property because it's unique beauty and serenity is too stunning to not be shared by many. Prior to our purchase of the venue, it has been family owned and used to grow fields and fields of lavender, to which it became known as The Lavender Farm and held community festivals with local vendors.
We are located approximately 30 miles north of Newport, Washington and sit on 10 acres. Enter our venue through a half-mile driveway of pure forest, where it opens up to surround you by timber, open fields and 900 feet of river frontage along the Pend Orielle River. Along the entire south side runs Mill Creek, a large and vibrant water way. This creek feeds an additional small stream that comes through our pond, and trickles throughout the entire venue; wrapping around behind the barn and making its way back to the river. This year- round flowing creek, creates continuous beautiful sounds of nature wherever you are. You will also enjoy the walking wooded trails along the creekside; as well as, camping and RV sites with hook ups in the open field along the river's edge.
*** The venue is offered as a VRBO (Vacation Rental By Owner) during OFF-SEASON
-IT IS PERFECT FOR HUNTERS AND/OR SNOWMOBILERS! WE ARE LOCATED RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET FROM MILL CREEK RD, WHICH LEADS UP TO NORTH BALDY AND SOME OF THE MOST PRIME HUNTING AND ATV/SNOWMOBILE TRAILS YOU WILL FIND!
